Cleaning for Oxygen Service (CFOS)
Specialty cleaning for components and systems operating in oxygen-enriched environments where contamination creates serious safety risks.
About This Service
Components used in oxygen-enriched environments must meet strict cleanliness requirements. Even trace amounts of hydrocarbon contamination or particulates can ignite in high-pressure oxygen, creating catastrophic risk. Cleaning for Oxygen Service (CFOS) is a specialized process designed to eliminate this risk.
Pure Source performs oxygen service cleaning using approved cleaning agents and verified rinse procedures that remove oils, greases, particulates, and other contaminants to the levels required for safe oxygen service use.
After cleaning, parts are visually inspected under white light and can be tested for residual contamination. We provide a certificate of cleanliness and package parts in oxygen-compatible materials to prevent recontamination during transport and storage. We can perform CFOS to most customer and industry specifications. Our most commonly referenced standards include CGA G-4.1 and ASTM G93, but if your project requires a different spec or procedure, contact us and we will work to meet it.
