Electropolishing

Electropolishing is an electrochemical process that removes a controlled layer of material from a metal surface, eliminating microscopic peaks, embedded contaminants, and surface defects. The result is a brighter, smoother, more corrosion-resistant finish, superior to mechanical polishing alone.

Pure Source performs electropolishing on stainless steel and other compatible alloys. Applications include pharmaceutical and semiconductor components, fittings, tubing, and precision machined parts where surface finish quality directly affects product performance.

Electropolishing also provides measurable improvements in cleanability, since smoother surfaces are harder for bacteria and particles to adhere to. We can test and document Ra surface finish values before and after processing. Our work conforms to ASTM B912, the standard specification for electropolishing.
